Free Your Mind started as a school project that was created in my first year at Savannah College of Art and Design. Since then, it has blossomed into a brand that is meant to explore unique artistic expression, while simultaneously looking at streetwear through the lens of mental health. Free Your Mind was created as an outlet to share my story as a young and passionate designer with ADHD. Our designs are as original as everyone’s mind; we’re all different with our own challenges. The butterflies were chosen to represent freedom, and the angel numbers 444 represent protection and good luck. Just like one’s own mind, every garment we produce is just like a butterfly’s wings, a one-of-a-kind pattern unto itself. FYM uses positive design elements beyond everyday words and phrases to amplify one’s energy, while bringing awareness to mental health.
